| On Sunday, 2/1 at 2:06 PM, the Cold Spring Fire Company was dispatched to assist Philipstown EMS, alongside North Highland Fire Department for a reported medical emergency on the Cornish Trail. A hiker experiencing symptoms of a potential stroke was stranded on the snow-covered trail, where vehicle access was not possible. Cold Spring firefighters and members of the Sheriff’s Department and Park Police made the trek on foot through the snow to reach the patient, provide assistance, and safely carry them back down the trail to awaiting EMS crews. This call is a reminder that emergencies can happen anywhere, and that strong coordination between our local agencies ensures help can reach even the most challenging locations. Great job to everyone involved.
