By President Aaron Leonard
July 10, 2023

July has been a very busy month for Cold Spring Fire. On Sunday afternoon and into the late hours of the night, heavy rain dumped over 8 inches on the village of Cold Spring and surrounding areas. During this time, CSFC members responded to roughly 25+ calls to service in the village, including fire alarms, pump outs, gas leaks, elevator rescues, mudslides, trapped residents, and numerous flooding condition calls. Our volunteers split up into different crews to cover all areas of the village. They used 13-2-1, 13-8-2, 13-3-1, 13-1-1, and 13-1-2 to ensure the safety of the village residents during this dangerous storm. The station was used as a shelter for community members and visitors who were trapped in Cold Spring. Members remained on call at the station until around 12 am when the rain finally stopped, and returned this morning for fire alarms and pump outs. We commend our volunteers and all emergency services that were out during this storm for their amazing work!

Units: 13-1-1, 13-1-2, 13-2-2, 13-3-1, 13-8-2
